Home to Taiwan's small and medium-sized enterprises and industrial powerhouses, Changhua boasts many of Taiwan's hidden champions that are key players in the global supply chain. Known for their refined manufacturing expertise and tightly integrated supply networks, these Changhua-based manufacturers are also evolving with the times, embracing sustainability trends while modernizing corporate management and talent development.
This edition of Changhua Open Factory brings together seven companies from sectors such as plumbing hardware, door locks, bicycle components, die-casting equipment, and ventilation systems. Two limited-time tour routes—one in northern Changhua and the other in central-southern Changhua—have been curated to highlight the value of Changhua manufacturing and the evolving image of its local enterprises.
Led by next-generation factory leaders and on-site guides, visitors will explore the cultural roots of these industrial clusters. Step onto factory floors, and experience a behind-the-scenes journey curated by Changhua's hidden champions!

In 2003, the Ministry of Economic Affairs founded the Taiwan Design Center (TDC). The center has since nurtured aesthetic awareness by promoting design aesthetics, industrial transformation, and internationalization. Its success is evidenced by the numerous prominent international awards received by Taiwanese designers and the series of international design events organized by the Institute, proving that Taiwan’s design soft power is on par with, if not greater than, global standards. With the founding of the “Taiwan Design Research Institute” (TDRI) in 2020, the role of designers will be further incorporated into the R&D process, making them the center of many industrial decisions. The TDRI has three missions: First, increase the influence of design through cross-departmental cooperation and interdisciplinary collaboration. Second, launch a design innovation platform for young designers to unleash their talent. Third, help businesses move up the design ladder by treating design as an inseparable part of operational strategies. The ultimate goal is to support businesses that have the potential to become industry leaders and position Taiwan as the center for high-end manufacturing and a hub for high-tech R&D.
T22 is a comprehensive revitalization program with regional characteristics design launched by Taiwan Design Research Institute based on its extensive experience of regional guidance, international expansion, and MICE activities over the years.
