Future in Progress

((( Vision )))

Description

Departing from Changhua:

Changhua is a city that moves at a gentle, unhurried pace. From the bustling Xiaoxi commercial district near the train station, through the quiet greenery of Baguashan and its serenely seated Great Buddha; from the storied memories of Lukang Old Street along the coast, to the slow-turning blades of offshore green energy industries; from the nurseries and greenhouses of Tianwei Highway Garden, to the industrious textile clusters of Shetou—Changhua steps steadily through everyday life and industrial transitions, arriving before us today as the starting point for walking into the city’s future.

Walking Toward the Future:

This exhibition is a shared dialogue on how we move forward together. Urban design should not be a one-way street from a single direction, but a two-way path that allows exchange and mutual passage. Future in Progress highlights the dual meanings of “行” (xíng / háng): háng, referring to a shared "journey" toward the future, and xíng, signifying collective "action." Starting from Changhua’s local scenes, it connects spaces of different rhythms and backgrounds. Through a gamified interactive platform, each participant can combine diverse city modules to construct their own vision of the city’s future.
