Before "Made in Taiwan," there was "Made in Changhua."
Manufacturing is more than just processing and production. It is the ability to turn ideas, values, culture, aesthetics, and ways of living into tangible objects.
"Made in Changhua" reflects a unique chapter in Taiwan's economic development. In the postwar era, Changhua's fertile land gave rise to a thriving canned food industry, and marked the beginning of local manufacturing. Factories grew out of farmland, and the idea that "the living room is the factory" embodied a spirit of grassroots ingenuity. This laid the foundation for a tightly connected supply chain that helped local businesses reach the world. A single phone call could move goods, and a few words were enough to seal a shipment. This unspoken coordination and teamwork among small and medium-sized enterprises became a quiet but resilient force behind Taiwan's manufacturing success, helping Taiwan sustain its foothold amid globalization and expand its presence across the world.
We have identified eight core values of manufacturing, each one offering a unique lens on the industry, not just in how it operates, but in how it thinks. These values celebrate the intelligence behind manufacturing and reflect the rich diversity of Taiwan's manufacturing spirit.
At its core, manufacturing is about people—generations of families building together, new leaders stepping up, and a dedicated workforce sustaining production. This intergenerational continuity extends far beyond the factory floor, giving rise to a heartfelt manufacturing spirit found only in Changhua.

Description
Curatorial Unit
Founded in 2016, Midroom is a design studio built around the concept of ""the middle""—a space for observation, integration and connection. Rooted in aesthetics and driven by strategy, Midroom utilizes sensory observation to build meaningful connections between people and spaces, shaping how design is constructed and perceived. In this process, the team seeks out distinct trajectories for differentiation. By fluidly redefining roles and language, they navigate the unconventional boundaries between business and art, finding a balance between the two. Midroom's cross-disciplinary services span brand identity, exhibition spaces, cultural curation, and visual identity systems.
